Inauguration of the Play Room at Omkarananda Preparatory School

April 2008. Everybody is excited - the teachers and the children alike,
because it is the inauguration of the play room for the tiny tots - a
long standing dream of Smt. Usha Devi, the Correspondent of the School.
The playroom is designed as an avenue to explore children's creativity
and to let them expose themselves to recreational teaching aids that are
only available to metropolitan kids. The playroom helps to reprieve the
children from classroom monotony.
When the guests went around the thoughtfully designed playroom they were
awestruck with the beauty of the place. With all its vibrant colors,
miniature chairs and tables, it was as if entering a fairyland. One can
find various toys and books that help in bringing out the creativity in
each child. These toys include a mini-theater, doll's house, train,
doctor's clinic and a fruit shop. There is even a mini-telephone booth!
The guests also came to know that the rhyme books and cassettes used by
the children have been written and composed by Smt. Usha Devi and her
team. They are not only used by the school here, but also by schools in
Delhi and as far away as Lucknow.
