Omkarananda Mahotsava from 25th December 2007 to
4th January 2008
Every year 25th December is celebrated as Swami
Omkarananda Jayanti at the Omkarananda Vidya Bhawan with great enthusiasm and
devotion. Students of different schools perform on this occasion. The young
Students of Omkarananda Preparatory School too take part in this great event.
The play group children presented a play ‘Indradhanushi
Rang’ in which they gave the message of living together happily. Their acting
was so superb that it touched the hearts of the audience.
Next the mythological story "Satyavan and Savitri’
was enacted by the kindergarten students. The acting was truly amazing. Their
command over complicated English at such a young age was highly commendable.
A beautiful Guru Vandana dedicated to Gurudev
Paramahamsa Omkarananda Saraswati was presented by the nursery students. Their
elevating performance mesmerized the people present.
On the 3rd day of the Mahotsava on 27th December
a Bhajan Sandhya was organized by the kindergarten students in
Omkarananda-Kamakshi-Devi Mandir. The Bhajans sung by the students created an
atmosphere of sublime respect and devotion. The parents listening to the singing
of the young students became charged with divine vibration and began to sing
along with them. There was happiness and joy all around. The great moment came
when during the Arati all the students and parents were waving lights in front
of Kamakshi-Devi which they all carried afterwards to the holy shrine.
After the Arati all the participants enjoyed a
delicious Prasadam. Undoubtedly this evening left an ever-lasting spiritual
aroma among each ones heart and mind.
On the fourth day of the Mahotsava on 28th
December 2007 the nursery students presented a welcome dance at Omkarananda
Patanjala Yoga Kendra to welcome Rim Banna, a world famous Singer from
Palestine. The students were dressed up in beautifully designed Arabic costumes;
they were looking like real Arabians. The performance of the ‘little Arabians'
was marvellous and appreciated by everyone. The way Sachin and Manvi of Class KG
introduced Rim Banna and Vote of Thanks given by Priyadarshini was unbelievable
and it bagged a great applaud from all corners. Besides, these small children
presented rosebuds to Rim Banna and Rim Banna also sang a Hindi Song with these
tiny tots which was highly appreciated.
Rim Banna, the star of the evening, presented a
repertoire of Palestinian songs which captivated the audience. Guests from
different parts of the world attended the function. The heart touching voice of
Rim Banna left great memory for them.
